My role as a Lead Artist at Puddle Kraken Games is to mentor and lead a team of 9 artists internationally to produce environments for VR games.

 

  • Establish, lead and maintain the art styles for various titles

  • Work across departments to ensure the requirements of code and design were met to ensure swift delivery

  • Plan / manage the art teams workload up until major milestones.

  • Create / implement themed environments

  • Guide an outsource team to produce environment and character assets

  • Feedback on environments, characters, animations, shaders and particles.

  • Take part in design and schedule discussions

My primary role in our flagship title was to create and implement stylised 3D assets, environments, animations, and lighting for mobile VR environments for over 32 uniquely themed stages. I was responsible for the thematic premise and art direction of each stage and guided each through from conception to completion.

Multiple titles were worked on over the period I worked at Puddle Kraken. These titles ranged in artstyle but my role did not change. I worked on environments, props, hero assets, lighting, post process and optimisation.
